All Hail Future King Errol Spence, Jr.?

Former 2012 Olympian and Current IBF #1 welterweight contender Errol Spence Jr. (21-0, 18KOs) is set to face IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook in less than 2 weeks across the Pond, in Sheffield England.
It seems as it?s a foregone conclusion that Spence will be victorious and bring home the IBF strap to America. Boxing luminaries such as De La Hoya have said that Spence will destroy Brook. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. who admitted while sparring with Spence in the past sustained a swollen or black eye. Whichever it was, that is a major concession from the future Hall of Famer. In reference to Brook-Spence, Mayweather stated Brook is in for a rough night and the fight will not go the scheduled 12 rounds.
Odds makers have favored Spence to win. Spence seems to have everything going in his favor. He is also represented by the influential and powerful Boxing Advisor, Al Haymon. Mr. Haymon has done an excellent job guiding this client/fighter thus far!
However, there are noteworthy boxing personalities who are not impressed with Spence. According to BoxingNews24.com, Floyd Mayweather Sr. stated back in 2015 ?Errol Spence is going to get his butt Whooped?. Exactly who will whoop his butt remains to be seen. Maybe Kell Brook will be the one to do it. As one closely examines Spence?s professional boxing record on who he has fought, the question arises such as, who has he beaten that has been noteworthy? In the 21 professional fights he is undefeated, but the only noteworthy opponent he demolished was former WBO Jr. Welterweight champion, Chris Algieri. Before that he stopped 41 year old Leonard Bundu back in August of last year in six rounds. Although Spence is slightly taller than Kell Brook, they both are big welterweights. Both men reportedly walk around as high as 170lbs (welterweight is 147lbs).
Any fighter is beatable. Kell Brook was last seen fighting Gennady ?Easy Work? Golovkin. It was a fight that showed Brook?s boxing ability. This writer actually had the fight even after 4 rounds, but the fight was stopped in the 5th round with Brook suffering a broken eye socket. Brook does not appear to be a man who is intimidated easily. Remember he came to America, former Champion Shawn Porter?s turf and took his IBF title.
Brook had the option of looking for bigger paydays at 154lbs (i.e. Cotto or Canelo) after fighting Golovkin at 160lbs, but instead opted to defend against Spence. That says a lot about Brook as a fighter. This writer?s boxing antenna is all the way up because of that.
Spence has a very difficult task to overcome in order to defeat Brook and become world champion. He has to fight Brook in his backyard (England), which will likely be a hostile environment. Close rounds will likely go to Brook. Anything can happen in this fight. Either fighter can win or lose. It can be a close fight or a blowout either way. Keeping that in mind, before crowning Errol Spence Jr IBF King, let?s wait and see how he does against Kell Brook.
