Argentinean Lucas ?The Machine? Matthysse, who recently won over Emmanuel Taylor by TKO in five rounds in the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez-Julio Casar Chavez Jr. superfight turned super mismatch, called on eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. ?I?ll have a big fight before the end of the year and I hope to get Manny Pacquiao for the world title,? Matthysse told Fox Deportes. ?Now I expect a big fight to come out in September or October. My goal is to fight for the world title with Manny Pacquiao.?

Matthysse now has a record of 38-4 with 35 KO?s, won his first fight after he was stopped by Viktor Postol in October 2015 for the vacant WBC world superlightweight title. Postol won by knockout in the 10th round and Matthysse broke an orbital bone in his left eye causing the long layoff. In his comeback win last weekend, he landed 59 power punches on Taylor who connected with only 31. With the victory over Taylor, Matthysse won the vacant WBA inter-continental and WBO international welterweight titles.

Amir Khan asserted that his planned fight with Manny Pacquiao at the United Arab Emirates did not push through because the fighting senator avoided the fight because he said he was too tough of an opponent for his former sparmate and stablemate. ?He knew it was going to be a hard fight for him. We have known each other since 2008, we used to spar together all the time,? said Khan in Boxing Scene. He said since then he had changed his fighting style and he chose somebody easy to fight referring to Jeff Horn.

?But I still think our fight will happen, because it makes good money. It?s a big financial fight,? added Khan. Pacquiao?s advisor Michael Koncz answered that Pacquiao will not be able to fight Khan because of the Ramadan. ?We signed it for Horn, so yeah, we?re excited about it. But again my preference was to fight Khan,? Koncz told Boxing Scene. Khan was optimistic that the aborted fight with Pacquiao will happen late this year.

San Antonio Spurs advanced to the NBA Western conference finals by a big blowout against the Houston Rockets, 114-75 in Game 6 of their series. MVP candidate James Harden scored only 10 points on two-for 11 shooting. It shows that Houston thrived only on Harden offense and when he?s off, the Rockets were annihilated. On the other hand, the Spurs played without their main man Kawhi Leonard and veteran point guard Tony Parker who were out due to injuries.

The Rockets homecourt was almost empty in the last four minutes of the game. It was the biggest winning margin on a road victory in NBA playoffs history. Houston who relied on three point shooting missed 27 of their 40 attempts. They made 22 of 77 in field goals for a measly 28.6%. Leonard?s absence made LaMarcus Aldridge took over the reins of offense with a season-high 34 points with 12 rebounds.
