DEMECILLO LOSES LOPSIDED DECISION IN PABA TITLE FIGHT

The Philippines Marco Demecillo has lost a lopsided twelve round decision to Irish-born Australian Terry ?The Power? Doheny in a Pan Asian Boxing Association super bantamweight title fight at the Club Punchbowl in New South Wales, Australia over the weekend.

The 28 year old southpaw Doheny dominated the bout from the opening bell with all three judges ? Anthony Shipley 120-108, John Cauchi 120-109 and Alex Fraser 119-109 scoring the fight for the undefeated Australian who improved to 11-0 with 7 knockouts while the 24 year old Demecillo dropped to 20-4-1 with 15 knockouts.

Doheny who is ranked No. 13 by the World Boxing Association was coming off an eighth round unanimous decision over Thailand?s Khankhiri Wor Wisaruth last February 20 while Demecillo lost in a battle for the Philippine bantamweight title against Monico Laurete last March 25.

Demecillo also suffered a 4th round knockout at the hands of hard-hitting Mexican David Sanchez in a clash for the vacant WBC International super bantamweight crown on January 18, 2014.
He was not ranked by PABA.
