Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has given P50,000 donation to the fund-raising organized by Pacland members for the family of the late Koronadal boxer Angelito Sisnorio who died 24 hours after being knocked out in Thailand. The news was relayed by Pacquiao confidant Rex "Wakee" Salud who himself had chipped in for the fund raising.

Pacquiao, who is currently in Los Angeles training for his upcoming fight on April 14 against the undfeated Jorge Solis of Mexico, has been known to have a soft heart for the poor and the needy.

Sisnorio's death had raised a howl to the unregulated fights in Thailand involving overmatched Filipino boxers who were sneaked out of the Philippines by unscrupulous boxing promoters and pitted against Thai contenders. Sisnorio (10-6-1 3KOs) was pitted against knockout artist and former world champion Chatchai Sasakul (58-3-0 38KOs) even if Sisnorio was coming off from 3 successive defeats the last one was with another dubious matchup against reighing WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (64-2-0 33KOs) where Sisnorio was KOed in the 4th round.

The Pacland community, composed mostly of Filipino boxing fans scattered throughout the globe, has demonstrated its readiness to help for a good cause. The community had earlier raised sizeable amounts for the Bicol landslide victims late last year and the Mandaue fire victims last month.
