UNRANKED PAMA GIVES FORMER WORLD CHAMPION RUNGVISAI A ROUGH TIME BEFORE LOSING BY TECHNICAL DECISION

Zoren Pama, the 22 year old Filipino who was unranked by the Games and Amusements Board and the WBC Asian Boxing Council in the top 15 has lost by a somewhat questionable 8th round technical decision in a battle for the vacant super flyweight title against former world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in Sara Buri, Thailand.
Pama who lost two of his last three fights by TKO faced the WBC world champion who lost his title to Mexico?s undefeated Carlos ?Principe? Cuadras by an 8th round technical decision last May 31 after Cuadras suffered a nasty cut on his left eye and the ringside physician recommended that the fight be stopped with Cuadras ahead on the scorecards of all three judges.
With the win the 27 year old Srisaket Sor Rungvisai improved to 28-4-1 with 25 knockouts while Pama dropped to 6-11-3 with 3 knockouts.
The Asian Boxing Scene reported that Rungvisai ?received a gift? with his technical decision win over the ?bull-like Filipino fighter.
It said Rungvisai suffered a small but bloodied cut beside the left eye from an accidental head-butt and was decalred the winner and new WBC Asian Boxing Council super flyweight champion.
Asian Boxing Scene claimed ?the gash was nothing, not nasty? and that before the referee waved the nfight offon the advicxe of the Thai ring physician, Rungvisai complained he was ?wounded with a bad cut.?
The report claimed the inexperienced Pama who was fighting out of the Philippines for the first time ?fought like a man possessed and looked good in dominating some rounds and never showed respect for the former world champion though he (Pama) got tagged several times.?
However, Rungvisai used his experience to remain in the fight ?despite the suffocating aggression? of Pama in his first comeback fight after losing the world title to Cuadras.
