In a non-title clash, WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental Flyweight Champion Raymond Tabugon scored a crushing knock out win over veteran Kaichon Sor Vorapin of Thailand Tuesday night (Sep 9) in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
During the action of round two, Sor Vorapin was caught by a huge right hand from Tabugon and the Thai went down and out. The 23 year-old Tabugon (14-3-1, 6 KO's), can now look forward to new more exciting challenges in the tough flyweight division.
In the co-main event, hard-swinging super flyweight Daryl "Flash" Basadre (13-1-1, 9 KO's) of Cagayan de Oro won a unanimous decision in eight rounds over crafty Davae?o veteran Philip Parcon.
In the battle of southpaws, "The Gensan Hittman" JR Edurot (10-2, 9 KO's) scalped Butuan warrior Rolando Omela, knocking him out in round 4. It was another hit from the popular Gensan Hittman. The battle was in the featherweight division.
In another rumble, Davae?o slugger Engelbert "Aguila" Moralde (8-2, 6 KOs) stopped Paul Apolinario (10-12-2, 6 KO's) of Maasim, Sarangani. A huge body shot in round 2 sent Apolinario in pain to the canvas and he could not recover.
Paul Apolinario's new consecutive loss means that he has been pummeled and knocked out in all his last seven fights and hasn't scored a win in 5 years. He should to consider hanging his gloves. His health is more important.
Early on in the night, Adam Adiu Abdulhamed won a unanimous decision in four rounds over Gabby Sempo.
The evening of boxing was possible thanks to the support of lGU Polomolok and the Honorable Polomolok Mayor Madame Honey L. Lumayag-Matti.
The card Tuesday (Sep 9) at Polomolok Gym was a production of Sanman Promotions. Matchmaker Jim Claude Manangquil.
