
CONCEPCION-SONSONA ABBREVIATED WAR ON PBO-SKY CABLE TONIGHT

The abbreviated war between former two-time world title challenger and one time world rated Eden Sonsona which had all the makings of a classic battle will highlight Viva Sports ?The Main Event? to be telecast on Pinoy Box Office (PBO) over Sky Cable on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with a replay on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Two sets of cheering fans, one rooting for Concepcion and the other for the southpaw Sonsona added to the atmosphere at the Mandaluyong City Gym which is a known hotbed of boxing in Metro Manila.
Also featured on the program promoted by former two division world champion Gerry Penalosa in cooperation with Mandaluyong City Mayor BenHur Abalos will be an exciting, all-action super flyweight clash between rugged Jason Canoy of the Omega Boxing Stable in Cebu City and Giovani Escaner of the Marry Elorde Stable in Sucat, Paranaque.
Former Mayor Ben Abalos who was at special ringside said the fight card was an entertaining one and said fans are looking forward to a rematch between Concepcion and Sonsona who showed no love lost between them.
Ben Abalos was Mayor at the time Manny Pacquiao, a skimnny 17 year old kid carved a name for himself against a succession of opponents at the Mandaluyong City Gym in the early 90?s.
