Mexican warriors Mario ?Rocky? Meraz and Hugo Partida have promised to wage war when they face-off against the Pagara brothers, Jason and Prince Albert at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino on Saturday in another exciting fight card presented by ALA Promotions and the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN.

Meraz who trains at the Baja California boxing gym of manager/trainer Antonio Lozada Castillo whose fighters include former WBC lightweight champion and current WBC International Silver light welterweight champion Humberto Sotto and former WBC Silver light flyweight champion Luis Ceja said he is ?going for a knockout? although he made it clear at a luncheon press conference in Cebu ?for sure its going to be a knockout ? either me or Pagara.?

Meraz who said he is ?ready after training for three months ?for the showdown with WBO International junior welterweight champion Jason Pagara.

The rugged Meraz has a pretty scary record of 16 knockouts in 20 wins with three losses and is expected to engage Jason Pagara in a power-punching battle.

Meraz is coming off a ten round unanimous decision over Javier Carrera whom he dropped in the opening round last May 14 but was himself dropped during a furious exchange in round four.

Carrera, the WBF North American welterweight champion gave Meraz all he could handle in a fight that was described as one with high-paced, back and forth action highlighted by the fact that both Meraz and Carrera scored knockdowns.

Meraz showed his boxing skills against Carrera and often connected with good combinations and while Carrera appeared to land the more powerful punches, he rarely followed up.

The fight was touted as one of the best in Ensenada, Mexico this year.

Partida told the well-attended press conference that he knows that Prince Albert Pagara has a good record but said he would bank on his experience in a fight that he vowed ?will be a war.?
Partida, the WBC FECARBOX Interim champion with a record of 21-4-2 including 16 knockouts has vowed to inflict the first loss of the young Pagara who has a record of 20-0 with 14 knockouts.

Reports received by Viva Sports from Mexico state that Partida is a strong fighter and someone who comes to fight which is typical of Mexican warriors.
