Exclusive interviews with five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire and former two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa highlights today?s presentation of The Main Event over Pinoy Boxing Office (PBO) on SkyCable at 8:30 p.m. today with a replay at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Donaire recalls his fourth round unanimous technical decision win over South Africa?s Simpiwe Vetyeka and talks about the future as well as Top Rank promoter Bob Arum?s plan to have him fight alongside ?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao in Macau on November 22.
Penalosa, for his part assesses the performances of Donaire and ?Marvelous? Marvin Sonsona who has moved up to No. 4 in the WBC world featherweight rankings after his ten round split decision win over former world super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr in their rematch at famed Madison Square Garden on the undercard of the WBC middleweight battle between Miguel Cotto and Sergio ?Maravilla? Martinez in which Cotto who was trained by the celebrated Freddie Roach won in a dominating performance in which he dropped Martinez three times in the opening round and once in the ninth.
There will also be highlights of the torrid four round sparring session between world rated southpaw Michael Farenas and promising Al Rivera during Farenas? last day of training prior to leaving for the Wild Card Gym in preparation for his crucial clash against undefeated Mike Davis of the US.
