
MARK MELLIGEN WINS WBO ORIENTAL FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

Southpaw Mark Gil Melligen has won the vacant WBO Oriental featherweight title with a 4th round TKO of Thailand?s Petchsamutr Duan-aimookdahan at the Expo Garden in Kunming, China.
The 26 year old Melligen who was formerly with ALA Promotions is now handled by a Japanese promoter and has a record of 19-4-1 with 10 knockouts. He has won his last four fights by stoppage with one knockout and three TKO?s.
Melligen dropped the Thai in the third round en route to the 4th round TKO win.
The Thai fighter has a record of 8-2 with 1 knockout. In his last fight Petchsamutr lost a unanimous six round decision to Felix Verdejo on a Top Rank card in Macau last November 24, 2013.
Meantime, 30 year old Warlito Parrenas alias Wars Katsumata who fights out of Japan has won the vacant WBO Oriental super flyweight title with a 7th round TKO over Indonesia?s Junior Bajawa at the Makati Cinema Square Boxing Arena.
Parrenas was coming off two successive knockout victories. He scored a 1st round knockout of Ryan Soliveres last March 27 and an 8th round knockout of tough Indonesian Isack Junior at the Convention Center in Okinawa.
In his last recorded fight the 23 year old Bajawa dropped a tenb round unanimous decision to Richard Pumicpic on April 21, 2013.
