KONCZ TO DISCUSS PACQUIAO?S NEXT FIGHT WITH ARUM IN MACAU

?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz says he will discuss Pacquiao?s next fight with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum when they meet in Macau for Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire?s title fight against WBA champion Simpiwe Vetyeka on May 31.

Koncz told the Manila Standard that both Pacquiao and he didn?t watch the Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike ?Mile High? Alvarado fight telecast by ABS-CBN Sports and on SkyCable as they were in church but indicated they would probably watch the replay.

The adviser said he didn?t think Marquez is an exciting proposition for Pacquiao claiming that ?Manny will beat him every day? and dismissed the crushing 6th round knockout in December 2012 as the result of Pacquiao ?getting careless.?

In a post fight interview with Marquez after he won a unanimous twelve round decision over Alvarado which began with Alvarado hardly doing anything until the middle rounds when both men began to trade big shots with Marquez dropping Alvarado with a devastating right hand in the 8th round that almost sent him through the ropes, HBO Sports Larry Merchant said it reminded him of how Pacquiao got careless and was knocked out by the Mexican legend.

Asked about a possible fifth fight with Pacquiao which Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has said would take place in Macau on November 16, Marquez said he was ?not thinking? about a fifth fight with Pacquiao and wanted to go home and rest and spend time with his family.

ESPN?s Dan Rafael quoted Marquez who said ?I?m not making a decision on Pacquiao right now. I felt great in the fight and I know I did a great job but let me see how I feel in a couple of weeks. I am now making a decision on a Pacquiao fight right away. I?m gonna rest and think about it.?

Marquez was impressive, demonstrating hand-speed and power and looking far fresher than the 40 year old who looked his age when he lost a split decision to then WBO welterweight champion Timothy ?Desert Storm? Bradley who in turn was totally out-boxed by Pacquiao in a rematch in which the eight division world champion regained his title which he lost in a universally criticized split decision in June 2012.

Although Marquez got caught with a big Alvarado right hand that dropped him in round nine he was never in danger of losing and put on a clinic in the ring of the newly refurbished, historic Forum in Inglewood, California before a predominantly cheering crowd of Mexicans among the 12,090 fans at the venue which last hosted a boxing event in 2001.

All three judges, Robert Byrd 119-108 , Max DeLuca 117-109 and Julie Lederman also 117-109 scored the fight for Marquez.
