2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is training relentlessly in the run up to his bid to win a fifth world title when he faces WBA featherweight champion Simpiwe Vetyeka of South Africa at the plush Cotai Arena of the sprawling Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macau on May 31.

Donaire?s father and trainer ?Dodong? Donaire Sr said his son was ?doing well? and he?s pleased with the way training is going.

Strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson told the Manila Standard that Donaire went through his conditioning regimen Tuesday morning which also included high altitude training using a simulator which Curson brought in from the US.

Donaire is scheduled to spar on Tuesday evening as well as on Thursday with Sylvester Lopez. ?Dodong? Donaire said Lopez is good and he plans to have Nonito spar six rounds.

Lopez is the former WBC super bantamweight Silver champion who won the title against tough Mexican Oscar Ibarra by an 8th round TKO on September 24, 2011 when referee Gerald Ritter called a halt at 1:23 of the round.

Lopez, a prot?g? of Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde Jr fought for the WBC super flyweight title against Japan?s Yota Sato on July 8, 2012 and dropped a twelve round unanimous decision.

Lopez is a well-conditioned fighter who has a somewhat awkward style like Vetyeka and should be an asset in the Donaire training camp.
