Jack ?The Assassin? Asis has scored a comfortable eight round unanimous decision win over Indonesia?s No. 1 ranked featherweight Arief Blader before a capacity crowd at Rumours International in Toowoomba, Queensland.

Well known promoter and boxing radio and TV host Peter Maniatis told the Manila Standard that ?it was an easy points win and Jack fought well.?

With the win Asis improved to 30-15-5 with 18 knockouts while Blader dropped to 20-13-1 with 7 knockouts.

In the main event Michael ?The Great? Katsidis made what reporter Kevin Farmer described as ?a triumphant return to the ring when he ended two years in the world boxing wilderness with a third round stoppage of Eddy Comaro? of Indonesia.

It was Katsidis? first hometown fight in eight years as he launched a career comeback for the former WBO world lightweight champion.

Farmer reported that Katsidis started to show ?glimpses of his class, speed and strength in round two which soon had Comaro under pressure. The pair took turns at exchanging a number of furious blows in round three before a stunned Comaro retreated to his corner after 1:11 seconds to give Katsidis the TKO victory.?

The popular Katsidis who had previously fought in the Cebu Coliseum had earlier said this was ?a make or break? fight and when it was over he was full of emotion and celebrated with his fans after what was described as ?two lost career years.?
