VILORIA TO FIGHT FOR VACANT NABF FLYWEIGHT TITLE

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says that former WBA/WBA flyweight champion Brian Viloria who lost his title to tough Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada, may be included on the May 31 card headlined by the Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire title fight against WBA featherweight champion Simpiwe Vetyeka in Macau on May 31, provided he does well in a North American Boxing Federation title fight on March 29 at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas.

Arum told the Standard ?if he (Viloria) comes through and is fine he will be on the Macau card.?

However, there appeared to be some slight confusion over Viloria?s opponent and whether it would be a title fight or an IBF eliminator.

Viloria told the Manila Standard he didn?t know if it is for the NABF title saying ?I?m not too sure. I have been told it's an eliminator for the IBF title.?

Viloria also seemed to think it would probably be McWilliams Arroyo who is ranked No. 4 by the NABF but Ryan Songalia of Ring TV quoted Arum as telling him recently in Macau that Viloria?s opponent would be the brother of McWilliams, unbeaten southpaw McJoe Arroyo.

Viloria (32-4, 19 KO?s) hasn?t fought since April 2013 when he lost his WBO and WBA belts to Estrada while McJoe Arroyo (13-0, 7 KO?s) also hasn?t seen action since scoring an eight round decision over Jairo Hernandez also last April.

In an overseas telephone conversation with the Standard, Viloria said ?training has been going great. I?ve been in training camp for a while (because of changes in the fight date). I?ve been in training for almost two months already and we?ve got another month to go.?

He said ?I feel good, the weight is no problem and I?m training with Marvin Somodio at the Wild Card Gym. I?m pretty excited, I can?t wait to get back into the ring.
