Filipino southpaw Dondee Pumar has suffered a 7th round technical decision loss in an IBF Asia super bantamweight title fight against champion Mike "Tyson" Tawatchai in Loei, Thailand.

Pumar was cut above the eye in the opening round in an accidental clash of heads but the ring doctor pronounced him fit to continue.

However, in the 7th round the cut opened up badly and was considered too severe for Pumar to continue forcing the referee to go to the scorecards of the three judges who all scored it f or the Thai champion by margins of 69-65, 68-65 and 68-66 in a fight where Tawatachai dominated the 24 year old Pumar.

With the win Tawatchai who is ranked No. 10 by the IBF improved to 33-7-1 with 22 knockouts while Pumar who is not ranked in the latest ratings of the Games and Amusements board dropped to 10-6-3 with 4 knockouts.

The 28 year old Tawatchai was coming off a 2nd round knockout of Japan's Yoichi Oguma last December 20 while Pumar won his last fight by a 6th round TKO over Dino Lelis on October 19, 2013.

In an action-packed supporting bout another Filipino, 24 year old super featherweight Jose Ocampo, a southpaw who is also not listed in the latest GAB ratings lost an eight round bout against IBF No.12 ranked light welterweight Patomsuk Pathompothong.

The 30 year old Patomsuk improved to 27-2-1 with 17 knockouts while Ocampo fell to 17-8-1 with 12 knockouts.
