ALIGARBES KO?D IN TWO ROUNDS IN OPBF TITLE FIGHT

Filipino boxer Jovy "Katsumata" Aligarbes was knocked out in the second round by world-ranked Japanese Shingo Wake in a battle for the Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Super Bantamweight crown at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan Monday tonight.

The hard hitting 26 year old southpaw Wake was making the third defense of his OPBF title after having ripped Jhunriel Ramonal (13-6-4, 7 KO's) in three rounds in Tokyo in October last year.
The end came at 1:14 of the second round for the 20 year old Aligarbes.

Jovy ?Katsumata? who fights out of Japan and uses his manager Hiroshi Katsumata?s name dropped to 10-3 with 4 knockouts after the loss which followed three successive victories in Japan while Wake improved to 16-4-2 with 9 knockouts.

Wake is ranked No. 6 by the WBA and No. 9 by the WBC.currently WBA # 6 and WBC # 9 in the world.

The Filipino youngster sparred regularly with former WBA super bantamweight champion Akifumi Shimoda who is scheduled to clash with former WBO world super flyweight champion ?Marvelous? Marvin Sonsona in Macau on February 22.
