Talented Pan Asia Boxing Association Randy ?Razor? Petalcorin will defend his light flyweight title at the Malvern Town Hall in Victoria, Australia on March 28.
His co-manager and well-known Australian promoter Peter Maniatis told the Manila Standard that Petalcorin, who is already in Melbourne, will face Thailand?s Lookrak Kiatmungmee who fought WBC world champion Xiong Zhao Zhong in China last November 30 and lasted five rounds.
Maniatis said that the Thai challenger ?took the fight on short notice and it was a spirited fight before his condition gave way since he Lookrak took the title shot on two weeks notice.?
However, the Thai lost his previous two fights before facing Zhong including a 1st round knockout at the hands of Eduard Penerio on October 2, 2011.
Lookrak has a record of 7-5 with 4 knockouts while the 22 year old southpaw Petalcorin has a record of 20-1-1 with 15 knockouts and is regarded as a prospect since he is ranked No. 2 by the WBA, No.8 by the IBF and No. 13 by the WBO.
Petalcorin won the PABA title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Samartlek Kokietgym in a dominating performance where he dropped the Thai in rounds 3, 6 and 9 on April 21, 2012.
In his last title defense Petalcorin scored a 3rd round TKO over another Thai challenger Samranksak Singmanasak in a title fight in Melbourne, Australia.
