Filipino Rey Loreto who is ranked No. 30 by the International Boxing Organization will fight former IBF and IBO minimum weight champion Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa who is ranked No. 2, for the IBO light flyweight title in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Saturday.

Loreto has a woeful record of 17 wins against 13 losses and 9 knockouts while the hard-hitting Joyi who has beaten several Filipinos in the past including former IBF world minimum weight champion Florante ?Little Pacquiao? Condes has a record of 24-2 with 17 knockouts.

The southpaw Joyi is coming off a 9th round knockout win over Filipino Benezer Alolod last August 31, 2013 following a split decision loss to Hekkie Budler, the IBO minimum weight champion.
Alolod had earlier beaten Loreto by a 7th round split decision in a WBC International light flyweight title fight when an accidental headbutt forced a stoppage.

Loreto, nicknamed ?Hitman? is coming off a 10th round technical decision over Thailand?s Pornsawan Porpramook in a clash for the Interim Pan Asia Boxing Association light flyqweight title last August 23, 2013 when Porpramook was cut after an accidental clash of heads.

Loreto had earlier won by a 3rd round TKO in a scheduled eight round bout against Sherin McDo Lungay who sported a miserable record of 7 wins against 21 losses and 2 draws with no knockouts to his name.

Rich Mazon reported in philboxing.com that Loreto arrived in Monte Carlo with his manager Brico Santig and trainer Joven Jorda and continued light training on Tuesday and Wednesday.
