MANCIO MAKES SECOND ATTEMPT TO WIN OPBF LIGHT FLYWEIGHT TITLE

Jerson Mancio makes his second attempt to win the Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation light flyweight title when he faces Japan's undefeated but relative newcomer Naoya Inoue in Tokyo on December 6.

Nicknamed the "Smooth Operator" Mancio who is ranked No. 2 by the OPBF has won his last five fights has a record of 18-3-3 with 9 knockouts while his 20 year old opponent Inoue who is rated No. 1 has a record of 4-0 with 3 knockouts.

In his first attempt to win the OPBF title Mancio lost by a 4th round TKO to Ryo Miyazaki on October 2, 2011 but is coming off a winning streak which included the Philippine title when he won by a 5th round TKO over Charlie Cabilla on May 20, 2012.

In his last fight against Jover Romasasa, Mancio won in his second defense of his title when Romasasa retired in the 2nd round on August 17 this year.

Inoue won the Japab title with a ten round unanimous decision over Ryoichi Taguchi last August 25.
