2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire believes that the melee involving trainers Freddie Roach and Robert Garcia as well as Brandon Rios? strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza may be a setback to the growth of professional boxing in China.

Donaire told the Manila Standard that China ?is not into that kind of stuff and are respectful of the fight game. They take martial arts differently from other people.?

He said ?to show lack of respect for each other might work in the United States because they like that kind of stuff but it will raise questions in the mind of the Chinese.?

Donaire at the same time said Ariza ?should never do some of the things that he does but that?s how he is.?

During the altercation between Roach and Garcia in which Roach initially hurled invectives at the 2012 ?Trainer of the Year?, Ariza kicked Roach in the chest and also mocked his Parkinson?s disease and slurred speech.

Talking about the Pacquiao-Rios showdown on Sunday at the Cotai Arena in Macau, Donaire predicted it would be ?a really good fight especially because there?s a lot of rivalry going on.?
At the same time Donaire disclosed that his son Jarel has a cough and that their planned visit to the Philippines is on hold for the moment and doesn?t know whether he will be in the Philippines before Christmas along with wife Rachel and their son.

Donaire indicated that his cheekbone has ?a little fracture and it has to heal? before he can enter the ring again which is likely to be in April or a little sooner.

He said they have no opponent in mind because ?everybody is in Macau? and he hasn?t been able to discuss it with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum or his manager Cameron Dunkin.

Donaire told the Standard that he had ?learned a lot from the rematch with Vic Darchinyan? which he won with a come from behind 9th round TKO when he was behind on the scorecards of the judges.

He said ?I need to perfect what I did in the 9th round and I think I?m back and will go from that and keep learning.?
