Jaca.
Hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex Jaca has been added to the blockbuster ALA Promotions fight card at the famed Aranta Coliseum on November 30.
An aggressive, crowd-pleasing, ?battle-tested veteran who once gave Juan Manuel Marquez the fight of his life in Las Vegas, Jaca ?will face Indonesia?s Wellem Reyk, nicknamed ?Fort Reyk? in an eight round bout in a card featuring two world championship fights.
WBO minimum weight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo will defend his title against undefeated Nicaraguan Carlos Buitrago whose 16 knockouts in 27 wins reflects his punching power while the southpaw Sabillo is also a heavy hitter.?
In the other title fight WBO light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes who has reigned as a champion since 2007 is determined to surpass the record of the late Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde who remained as world junior lightweight champion for almost seven-and-a-half years.
Nietes faces rugged Mexican Sammy ?Guty" Gutierrez who has in the past scored impressive TKO victories over Filipino challengers Renan Trongco ?and Roilo Golez.
The 30 year old Jaca has a record of 38-6-3 with 21 knockouts while Reyk who is 27 years old has a record of 17-7-3 with 5 knockouts.
Reyk is coming off back-to-back victories over countrymen Roy Tua Manihuruk and Evers Wellem whom he knocked out in the 3rd round.
Also on the ABS-CBN ?Pinoy Pride XXIII? card which is staged in cooperation with respected ALA Promotions will be former two-time world title challenger AJ ?Bazooka? Banal who has moved up to featherweight and will clash with Manuel Gonzalez Garcia alias Lucian Armando Gonzalez, a native of the Dominican Republic ?who now fights out of Puerto Rico.
Former WBA flyweight title challenger Milan Melindo who suffered his first setback after 29 wins including 12 knockouts against tough Mexican ?Juan Francisco Estrada last July 27 in Macau, will face off with Mexico?s former WBA light flyweight challenger Jose Alfredo ?Torito? Rodriguez who has an impressive 29-2 record with 18 knockouts to his name.
