Former WBA super flyweight interim champion Rafael ?El Torito? Concepcion better think twice about his boast to destroy undefeated Genesis ?Azukal? Servania, the sweet-punching prospect from the famed ALA Gym when they clash at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu on October 26.
Concepcion told Cebu-based Mexican Mike Lopez that he would ?destroy Servania much more than I did to (AJ Bazooka) Banal? whom he knocked out in the 10th round of a fight Banal was leading on the scorecards of all three judges on July 26, 2008.
The rugged Panamanian said he is ?hungry to win the WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight title and get another world title shot.
But the 22 year old Servania isn?t going to make the same mistakes he made when he was dropped twice in round one against Japan?s Konusuke Tomiyama in Macau last July 27 in Macau when Servania came back to send the Japanese crashing to the canvas late in round one and again in round three before going on to win a 9th round technical decision on the scorecards of all three judges after he was badly cut because of an accidental head-butt.
The Servania-Concepcion fight card will be telecast on the top-rating ?Pinoy Pride? series over the pre-eminent Channel 2 of the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN on Sunday October 27 at 10:15 a.m. and globally on The Filipino Channel.
Trainer Edito ?Ala? Villamor told the Manila Standard that Servania is ?in great condition? and ready to put on an explosive performance against Concepcion.
He revealed the fight plan would ?depend on what Concepcion does in the ring and what his moves are. We have different strategies to make any adjustment.?
Villamor said Servania had sparred over 100 rounds with fighters who imitate the style of Concepcion and predicted it would be a great fight that fans would love.
