Pan Asian Boxing Association flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin will begin sparring at the Boxingfit Gym in Melbourme against WBC No. 8 ranked Omari Kimweri in preparation for his title defense at the Malvern Town Hall in Melbourne on November 8.

Well known Australian promoter and co-manager of Petalcorin, Peter Maniatis, told the Manila Standard that Petalcorin who had been training in General Santos City under brothers Jim and JR Mananquil was ?in great condition? after doing some 40 rounds of sparring in GenSan.

Evidence of Petalcorin?s condition is that with a little less than four weeks before the title defense he is already 112 pounds.

Maniatis said that in Melbourne, Petalcorin?s training will be handled by Mick Hargreaves and that he plans to have the champion spar another 40 rounds ?to get Randy spot on? for his title defense.?

Petalcorin has already been a big hit with the Filipino community and Maniatis said they will have a public meet and greet with the Filipino people and organizers of the Filipino fiesta in Melbourne this coming Saturday 12.30pm at Unique Bodyworks which will see BBQ and Food and dance and Randy doing some pad work to show off his Boxing Skills to the public.

The Filipino community have already requested for Randy to stay after his PABA Title fight for the big two day Filipino festival fiesta in Melbourne on November 23rd where they will have a giant screen showing the Manny Pacquaio vs Brandon ?Bam Bam? Rios Rios fight in Macau but nothing is confirmed till after Randy?s fight on November 8th.

Randy is already very popular among Filipinos who have been requesting photos and autographs from Randy who is ranked WBA No. 2 in the World and aiming for a World Title shot next year.
