Hard-hitting Weng Haya has lost in his bid to capture the WBO Asia Pacific lightweight title, dropping a twelve round unanimous decision to Indonesia's Roy Mukhlis in Suarabaya.

The 26 year old Mukhlis won on the scorecards of all three judges including the Philippines Salven Lagumbay who had the Indonesian winning by a 115-113 margin. Indonesian judges Eric Suwarno (117-111) and Bambang Subagyo (116-112) had Mukhlis winning by a wider margin.

With the win Mukhlis who is nicknamed "The Sniper" improved his record to 26--3-2 with 20 knockouts. He was coming off a 2nd round TKO of countryman Frans Yarangga last Martch 30.

The 24 year old Weng Haya who gave WBO world champion Orlando Salido a scare when he dropped him twice - once in round 1 and again in round 2 in a ten-round bout in Mexico on December 17, 2011 but faded and was stopped in round eight, fell to 17-7 with 9 knockouts.

Weng Haya was coming off a 2nd round TKO to tough Mexican Miguel Berchelt last June 22 after being dropped in rounds one and two.
