WBO No. 10 ranked Marvin ?Chavacano Disaster? Mabait hopes to improve his world ranking with a win over Mexico?s Johnny Garcia in a clash for the WBO Intercontinental bantamweight title in Mexico City on Saturday, Manila Time.

Both Mabait who has a record of 18-1-1 with 12 knockouts and Garcia who sports a record of 18-4-1 with 9 knockouts both tipped the scales at the bantamweight limit of 118 pounds as they prepared to face off in the popular Boxeo Telemundo series.

The 25 year old southpaw Mabait is coming off impressive back-to-back TKO victories after suffering his first setback, a 3rd round TKO against hard-hitting Marco Demecillo in a Philippine title fight on April 22, 2012.

Mabait who is trained by Nonito ?Dodong? Donaire Sr, father of 2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire scored a 4th round TKO over Jjeson Berwela last January 17 and followed with a 2nd round TKO over Rey Las Pinas on April 13.
After the 24 year old Garcia lost by an 11th round knockout to Omar Andres Narvaez in a WBO world super flyweight title fight on October 20, 2012 he came back to win the WBC Latino super flyweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Roberto Pucheta on July 27 this year before scoring an impressive 11th round TKO over the fancied Oscar Ibarra last March 8 in his first defense of his WBC Latino title.

Fight Previews.net predicted that Garcia whom it described as ?a legit contender? despite not having the prettiest record would win a unanimous decision.
