The reconciled father and son team of 2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire and his Dad, Nonito Donaire Sr, will begin training this week at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas.

Father and son reconciled after a three-year estrangement with Nonito giving his wife Rachel the credit for working things out even though she was initially regarded as the cause of the family feud.

Donaire Sr was Nonito?s trainer when he scored a sensational 5th round knockout over Vic Darchinyan to win the IBF/IBO flyweight titles on July 7, 2007 and for two successful defenses against Luis Maldonado of Mexico whom he battered into submission in an 8th round TKO and Moruti Mthalane over whom he won a 6th round TKO after breaking the South African?s nose and whose face was cut and bloodied.

The four-division world champion returned to Las Vegas after spending one week training under 2012 ?Trainer of the Year? Robert Garcia at his Oxnard Gym in California and told the Manila Standard that he would continue training with his Dad who had just arrived in Las Vegas.

Donaire said he would return to Oxnard when Donaire Sr leaves for Mexico to handle Filipino Marvin Mabait who is scheduled to face Mexico?s Johnny Garcia on October 11, in Mexico.

Donaire said his one week training stint with Garcia was ?great?. He said he sparred a total of ten rounds during the week with promising Rudy Ochoa and it was good since it was ?just the beginning? of his training in Oxnard.

Donaire told the Standard ?I feel good and feel strong? and revealed that after putting on considerable weight during a promotional trip to Mexico he was now just nine pounds over the featherweight limit of 126 pounds.
