The inaugural staging of the Queens Cup of Pool in what is expected to be a classic showdown between the finest women players in Europe and the USA combining to test the mettle of the powerful ladies of Asia will break at the classy Resorts World Hotel from November 5-7.

The three day event to be covered by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN will showcase the rivalry between the Asians and their western counterparts in Europe and USA. It will be very similar to the Ryder Cup in golf or Davis Cup in tennis.

Dragon Promotions indicated it?s a 10-ball format and the first team reaching 10 matches will the win. Style of play will include singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4. Captains will be put to the test to create the best strategy in partnerships and chemistry of match-ups. If the matches go 9 to 9 hill hill, a final 4-on-4 play will create the dramatic conclusion.

The Asian squad is composed of captain Ga Young Kim of Korea and will include the Philippines Rubilen Amit, Shimming Chen of China and Tsai Pei Chen on Taiwan.

The powerful USA-Europe foursome will be led by skipper Kelly Fischer backed up by Allison Fisher, both from England, Austria?s Jasmin Ouschan and America?s Monica Webb.

The Queens Cup will follow a resurgence of interest in pool in the Philippines once known as the ?epicenter? of the sport after the classic 888.com World Cup of Pool victory by Dennis Orcollo and Lee Van Corteza at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, East London on Sunday.

Dragon Promotions executive and a top pool player on the men?s circuit himself, Charlie Williams who is the creator and executive producer of the Queens Cup said Ouschan who is very popular among Filipino pool fans ?is going to be a key player for the West Team. They will need her youth and her fire to help stay with the younger Asian team. And Jasmin has an amazing high gear she can hit if she catches on fire. That could be a turning point for the Euro-USA team".
