The World Boxing Council claims that judge Cynthia J. Ross, ?who blazed to attention after having scored a draw of 114-114 in the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez... has decided to retire.?

According to the WBC, the 64 year old Ross who has come under scathing attacks from around the world for her ridiculous scorecard while many have demanded that executive director Keith Kizer also be fired, reportedly presented her resignation to the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Bill Brady was quoted as saying ?We appreciate C.J. Ross? action. She is a good person who cares about the sport.?

For his part Kizer, criticized by media for being arrogant has said a mandatory seminar will be held in October or November for Nevada judges.

Kizer revealed ?We were planning to do a seminar before this happened. We usually do one every couple of years, just like we do for our referees, our inspectors and others.?

The WBC indicated that Brady said the ultimate goal is to turn a negative situation into a positive one, adding ?I think it?s a new day for the commission, a new day for boxing and a new day for the state.?
