The WBC reports that tension was simmering, as Sa?l ?lvarez and Floyd Mayweather were glaring eyeball to eyeball in the final presser at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The undefeated 23 year old Alvarez said ?I?m not only here to fight but to win!? while his trainers Chepo and Eddy Reynoso pledged Canelo will win the fight because: ?he?s young, strong and smart.?

The WBC said ?Chillingly the best pound for pound king, Mayweatgher cautioned that for him this is just another fight- moderately interesting... but definitely NOT the best!

Mayweather remarked ?A guy of 42-0. But he hasn?t faced forty two Floyd Mayweathers because he?d be zero and 42. So I don?t really worry about who he's faced.?

He said "Whatever any fighter can do well... I can do great. I was born to be here. I was born to be at this level. I?m at the pinnacle. I?m the face of boxing and I?m dedicated to my craft,? chimed Floyd, who's pledging to clock Canelo.?

At the press conference WBC Executive Secretary Mauricio Sulaim?n who will serve as fight supervisor displayed the WBC solid gold belt that will be on the line in this fight.

The Mayweather-Alvarez fight will be telecast by GMA 7.
