As it continues to expand its horizons, ALA Promotions in cooperation with the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN, plans a big fight card in Dubai, tentatively scheduled for November 29.
ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told the Manila Standard that they had chosen November 29 since Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire has a fight scheduled for November 9 and the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios showdown will take place in Macau on November 24.

Headlining the Dubai fight card will be exciting WBO minimum weight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo, the all-action southpaw who is undefeated with a record of 23-0 with 12 knockouts.

Sabillo is coming off a 9th round knockout of Colombia?s Jorlie Estrada at the plush Solaire Resort and Casino along Manila Bay last July 13 after winning the title with a smashing 8th round TKO over another fancied Colombian Luis De La Rosa in Colombia last March 9.

Aldeguer is also mulling outing WBO light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes on the same card provided his trainers feel he can wait that long without a fight. Nietes who is 31 and has a record of 31-1-4 with 17 knockouts last fought on March 2 when he successfully defended his title with a close majority draw against tough Moises Fuentes.

Nietes has reigned as WBO minimum weight and later light flyweight champion for over six years.

Aldeguer said that should his trainers suggest an earlier title defense for Nietes, they would likely schedule a fight in October, most probably in Cebu.

In order to put up a blockbuster card in Dubai, Aldeguer told the Standard he plans to also feature Milan Melindo who lost in a gallant attempt to wrest the WBO flyweight title from talented and tough Juan Francisco Estrada in Macau last July 27.

Aldeguer indicated he would discuss his future plans with WBO president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel when they meet at the forthcoming WBO Convention in Budapest, Hungary.
