
WBC PRESIDENT SULAIMAN TO BE HONORED BY CITY OF MIAMI

World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman will be honored by the City of Miami, Florida on Wednesday, Manila Time.
Mayor Tomas Regalado will welcome the WBC President at an official ceremony where the Key to the City will be presented to President Sulaiman Chagnon.
Mayor Regalado praised Sulaiman?s work as WBC president, describing his work as ?admirable.?
The Mayor said Don Jose ?always worked to humanize the sport and this represents another success for a man who has been instrumental in the rise of many professional boxing greats."
Sulaiman who is 82 years old, has presided over the WBC since December 5, 1975. He was inducted into the International Hall of Fame of Canastota, NY on June 10, 2006.
The WBC president thanked Mayor Regalado and said "I have dedicated over 60 years of my life to the sport of boxing. I have always been very proud of my Mexican and Latin American nationality. It is an extraordinary privilege to receive such an honorable distinction. I deeply appreciate the gesture of Mr. Tomas Regalado, Mayor of the beautiful and famous City of Miami."
