DAVAO CITY (Aug. 15) PNA ? Reigning Philippine light flyweight champion Jerson ?Smooth Operator? Mancio vowed to retain his title against new challenger Jovel Romasasa in their championship fight this Saturday night in the main event of ?ALA-Cobra Tunay na Lakas Boxing? at the Magsaysay Park.

?I?m ready to fight him (Romasasa) and I want to make an impressive win to earn a possible crack for the Orient Pacific title,? said the 25-year old Mancio during the presscon held at their official home ALU Hotel last Thursday.

Mancio, a native of Esperanza, Agusan del Sur fighting for the ALA Boxing Stable, is also currently ranked No. 1 contender in the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF).

Mancio, holds a record of 17 wins with 8 knockouts with 3 loses and 3 draws, while Romasasa is the underdog with 10 wins with 4 Kos and 10 defeats and no draw.

Romasasa, 24 of General Santos City, lost all his five fights.
?Pero hindi ako puede mag kumpiyansa,? said Mancio, who previously won a 5th round TKO against Robel Villegas last May 18 in Paranaque.

Lulu, 22, is undefeated with 8 wins and 3 Kos and 2 draws while Dalut, 24, also has 8 wins but with 11 defeats and 2 draws.
Meanwhile, Davao?s very own Moralde brothers Engelbert, 20 and John Vincent, 19, will be showing their wares to their local hometown crowd for the first time since training already at the ALA Boxing Gym in Cebu.

Although, both of them won their previous fights held in Cebu, the Moraldes are now both facing two dangerous opponents in the undercard.

The 5-5 Engelbert (5-1-0) is also fighting for the very first time in the 8-round against a veteran Raymond Tabogon of Cagayan de Oro City (10-2-1) in the 112 lbs.

?Kaya naman nako mag 8 kay na-improved dyud ang akong stamina ug power sa ALA Gym,? said Engelbert, who last won by a unanimous decision against Junior Salvador last June 22.

The 5-foot-7 John Vincent, who has 6 wins with 3 Kos and no loss or draw, previously stopped Roland Navarette Jr., the son of the former world champion from GenSan.

John Vincent, however, will have his biggest test against another undefeated Jestoni Makiputin (4 wins, 2 KOs and 2 draws) of Valencia City, Bukidnon in the 118 lbs.-6 rds.

Makiputin, a native of Magpet, South Cotabato from the Lionel Nazarito Stable previously TKO?d Venjie Patac in the 3rd round.
