MIAMI, FL (March 5, 2026) — Undefeated heavyweight knockout artist Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo (9-0, 8 KOs) will return to the ring this Saturday, March 7, 2026, when he headlines “Havoc at the Hilton 3” at the Hilton in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The 10-round main event will see Trujillo take on Phillip Penson (8-5-3, 2 KOs) of Orlando, Florida in a clash promoted by Mike Sawyer Promotions. Now under the guidance of Ibrahim “Abe” Swidan of Visionary Sports Group, and currently a promotional free agent, Trujillo is positioning himself to make a powerful impact in the heavyweight division as he continues his pursuit of world-title contention.

ON HIS MATCHUP WITH PHILLIP PENSON
Trujillo is approaching his upcoming opponent with respect but remains focused on delivering another dominant performance. “Penson is a tough fighter and he’s coming to win, especially fighting in his home state,” said Trujillo. “But I’ve trained too hard to let this opportunity slip. Every opponent is dangerous in the heavyweight division, so I take every fight seriously. When the bell rings, fans will see the same thing they always see from me, aggression, power, and the will to finish the fight.”

Originally from Morón, Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, and now fighting out of Miami, Florida, Trujillo has quickly built a reputation as one of the most dangerous rising heavyweights in the sport. Known for his electrifying fighting style and devastating power in both hands, Trujillo enters the bout holding the WBO Latin American Heavyweight Title and carrying an impressive 8 knockouts in 9 professional victories.

ON RETURNING TO THE RING AND STAYING ACTIVE
After an impressive run across multiple combat sports, Trujillo is eager to stay active and continue building momentum inside the boxing ring. “I’m excited to be back in the ring. Fighting is what I love to do, and this year I want to stay busy and keep sharpening my skills,” Trujillo explained. “The more I fight, the more dangerous I become. 2026 is about activity and progression. I want fans to see me regularly and watch my evolution as a heavyweight contender.”

ON CLIMBING THE HEAVYWEIGHT RANKINGS
With the WBO Latino title already around his waist, Trujillo knows that every victory brings him closer to world-level opportunities. “Every fight is a step toward the top of the heavyweight division,” said Trujillo. “Winning this fight in impressive fashion will help me climb the rankings and move closer to bigger fights. I’m here to dominate and make the heavyweight division feel my presence.”

Beyond the boxing ring, Trujillo, who has been under the guidance of renowned trainer Herman Caicedo, has demonstrated remarkable toughness and versatility across combat sports. Together the duo have had much success over the past two years, winning the WBO Latin American Title, and top 15 ranking in the heavyweight division. He is currently undefeated in Bare Knuckle Boxing with a perfect (8-0, 8 KOs) record, with all eight victories coming by first-round knockout. Trujillo also holds the BKB Heavyweight Championship, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most dangerous and fearless competitors in the heavyweight ranks.

Before transitioning to professional combat sports, Trujillo was a standout member of the Cuban National Team in Greco-Roman wrestling, where his athleticism and discipline earned him recognition as one of the country’s elite athletes.

ON HIS GOALS FOR 2026
Looking ahead, Trujillo believes this year could be pivotal in his career. “My goal for 2026 is simple...keep winning, keep knocking people out, and move into position for major fights,” he said confidently. "I want the world to know my name. I believe I have the talent, the power, and the mindset to become one of the top heavyweights in the sport.”

MANAGER ABE SWIDAN PRAISES TRUJILLO’S POTENTIAL
Ibrahim “Abe” Swidan, President of Visionary Sports Group, believes Trujillo has all the tools necessary to make history. “Gustavo Trujillo is a rare athlete. His background in elite-level Greco-Roman wrestling, combined with his natural punching power and fearless mentality, gives him a unique advantage in the heavyweight division. Cuba has produced many legendary fighters, but the heavyweight division remains a frontier yet to be fully conquered. I firmly believe Gustavo has the talent, discipline, and work ethic to become the first Cuban heavyweight world champion. He possesses the physical tools and the champion’s mindset needed to reach that level.”

As Trujillo prepares to headline “Havoc at the Hilton 3,” fans can expect fireworks when one of boxing’s most exciting heavyweight prospects steps into the ring. For Trujillo, this fight represents another step toward a much bigger goal...heavyweight supremacy.
