Former WBO, Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion and 2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is slimming down to make the featherweight limit for his next fight which Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said would be on November 9.

Donaire said he doesn?t know who he will fight or even the venue but indicated ?they probably will give me a fight in November at 126 pounds which what I requested but aside from that I have no idea.?

Donaire told the Manila Standard that he ?will fight for the title by next year against the winner of the clash between former champion Orlando Salido and No.1 ranked Orlando Cruz which was mandated by WBO president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel after Mikey Garcia relinquished his title to move up to junior lightweight.

Garcia told us he would never fight his close friend Donaire and was in effect giving Nonito the opportunity to fight for the featherweight title which, if successful, would mean a fifth division crown for ?The Filipino Flash.?

Donaire said he jogs every night since he helps look after his son Jarel during the day while wife Rachel takes over the task at night. He said his son "is very strong."

Donaire said his weight is down to 136 from 144 and indicated the jogging was helping him ?cut the weight although there is no boxing as yet.?

2012 ?Trainer of the Year? Robert Garcia told the Standard ?I know how hard it is for fighters to sacrifice to make weight and I know what they go through. Nonito would be more comfortable at 126 and even a bit stronger.?

Following a recent meeting in Las Vegas, Garcia said he asked Donaire to remove his shirt and was pleased to see ?No fat. Nonito?s looking solid.? Donaire told us he would almost certainly train at the Garcia gym in Oxnard because he needs the trainer to be around while he prepares for his next fight.

Since he didn?t train in Oxnard for his last fight and lost to former two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux it appears that Donaire has realized he needs to train with Garcia keeping a close watch.
