Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has added another talented Chinese boxer to his promotional outfit by signing undefeated lightweight Yang Liang Hui who is also known as Ik Yang.
Yang began his career by fighting out of South Korea and piled up a record of 13-0 with 9 knockouts.
He won the South Korean lightweight title in only his ninth pro fight and won his first pro bout when he scored a 2nd round knockout over Mexico?s Ivan Zavala at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington last April on the undercard of the Oscar Gonzales-Rico Ramos main event.
Yang?s victory over Mexican prospect Zavala (4-1-1 with 2 KO?s) was regarded as solid test for the Chinese lightweight and fight fans expected a competitive fight and didn?t expect Yang to dominate Zavala who was regarded as a typical Tijuana brawler.
Yang had earlier won the WBO China Zone title in Macau in June last year and Welliver believes he has ?great potential with an entertaining style.?
