Koki Kameda Outpoints Apolinario to Retain WBA Bantamweight Belt

WBA Bantamweight World Champion Koki Kameda made a successful 7th title defense by scoring a wide unanimous decision win over Filipino challenger John Mark Apolinario (17-3-3, 4 KOs) to retain his 118-pound belt Tuesday night in Tokyo, Japan.
Kameda (32-1, 17 KOs) was in total command of the actions, knocking down the Filipino twice during the 12-rounder clash.
Official scorecards were 119-107, 118-108 and 117-109 all in favor of the 26 year old Koki Kameda.
