Eight division world champion and second term congressman Manny Pacquiao, fed up over the loud-mouthed Floyd Mayweather Jr?s claims that after his back-to-back losses to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, he is a has been and is finished as a fighter, shot back at the undefeated pound for pound king in an interview with the giant Philippine broadcast network ABS-CBN.
Pacquiao said Mayweather ?is all talk but short on action.?
He said Mayweather ?talks and talks but you don?t use your mouth in the ring.?
Pacquiao?s adviser Mike Koncz told the Manila Standard that whenever Mayweather is on tour promoting a fight ?he talks about Manny because he needs to stir things up? especially since on this present tour ?Canelo? Alvarez is proving to be more popular than Floyd.?
He said Mayweather?s statements about Pacquiao being finished is a sign of his ?insecurity.?
Koncz added, ?if he truly believes what he?s saying you?d think he?ll jump in to fight Manny, but he?s not because he?s scared he?ll lose.?
The Filipino boxing hero smiled as he challenged Mayweather saying ?Let?s fight? even as he insisted he is not finished and will prove it when he faces Brandon ?Bam Bam? Rios in Macau on November 23.
In an interview with the Macau Times Pacquiao said he ?feels very good physically and anticipates my fight with Brandon Rios to be the beginning of a new phase in my boxing career rather than an end.
Pacquiao said he ?cannot wait to begin training camp and to return to the ring in November.?
For the first time in his preparation for fights in the US. Pacquiao will set up training camp in his hometown of General Santos City instead of splitting his training camps between the Philippines (Baguio City primarily) and the Wild Card Gym of trainer Freddie Roach in Los Angeles.
Pacquiao said ?it makes more sense to train in the Philippines since he will be fighting in Macau which is less than two hours away by plane. He is confident ?it will be a more productive camp since I won?t be traveling between countries (on long flights) this time.?
