Doliguez.
Undefeated featherweight Jun Doliguez (16-0-1, 12 KO?s) will face Ruben Tamayo who is a replacement for WBO Intercontinental featherweight champion Jose ?Negro? Ramirez who is ranked No. 7 by the WBO and has a record of 25-3 with 15 knockouts compared to Tamayo whose record is 22-4-3 with 16 knockouts.

Doliguez? manager Elmer Anuran told the Manila Standard that Doliguez who is ranked No. 9 behind an undefeated record of 16-0-1 with 12 knockouts is currently training at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles in preparation for the July 20 fight against Tamayo in Mexico.

He said they, presumably Zanfer Promotions, had offered Ramirez $7,000 ?but he refused to take it still? even though it was much better than the initial offer of $3,000 for an eight round bout which Ramirez considered a ?joke.?

Anuran said ?maybe if Doliguez wins over Tamayo we can arrange Ramirez next.?

In what will be a battle of southpaws, Tamayo is coming off a win last January 14 over Juan Beltran who retired in the fourth round.

However, Tamayo lost by an 8th round knockout to Jesus Ruiz in a rematch for the WBC Fecombox title last April 19 after salvaging a split draw against Ruiz on June 23, 2012.

Tamayo also lost by a 5th round TKO to Genaro Camargo on December 14, 2012.

Anuran told us he had signed a two-year promotional deal for Doliguez with Zanfer Promotions headed by Fernando Beltran because he failed to sign with Top Rank because of their deal with MP Promotions which states that any Filipino who fights on a Top Rank card must go through MP Promotions.

He said Zanfer ?offered a better deal after Top Rank failed to revise their initial offer and even asked the assistance of Gerry Penalosa hoping that the Top Rank offer would improve but it seems the initial offer was indeed final.?

Anuran also disclosed that Zanfer had ?an option for a one year automatic extension should they execute fairly what was written in the contract.?
