World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman has indicated that minimum weight Silver champion Denver Cuello who suffered a rotator cuff injury in his losing bid to wrest the world title from China's Xiong Zhao Zhong does not have to spend for his medical expenses.

In an email to Games and Amusements Board boxing division chief Dr. Nasser Cruz who has been communicating with the WBC about the non-payment of Cuello's purse and his injury, a copy of which the WBC president forwarded to the Manila Standard, Sulaiman said "The world tittle fight Zhong-Cuello was covered by the WBC life and hospital insurance paid by the WBC, and the cost of the surgery shall be covered by it."

Sulaiman said his son and WBC executive director Mauricio Sulaiman had sent the forms that had to be filled up and requested that they be filled up and returned "so you can get the money."

He added "there could be a minimum not included, which we (the WBC) will take care of."

Sulaiman said "there will be no need of getting the so very kind offer of the doctors and Denver can go to any hospital where you all think that he will get the best medical treatment and service."

Cuello is being attended to by top class orthopedic surgeon Dr. Javier of the Makati Medical Center and was advised to take a 7 to 10 day rest before undergoing surgery this week.

GMA 7 sports reporter and TV host Chino Trinidad informed us that Dr. Javier and his team of doctors in recognition of the courage of Cuello who fought with only one hand after re-injuring his shoulder very early in the twelve round title fight which he lost by a majority decision had waived all charges

The Insurance Agency is owned by referee Laurence Cole and is based in Dallas, Texas.
