WBC minimum weight Silver champion Denver Cuello has been asked to rest for between 7 to 10 days by Dr. Beng Javier, the top-notch orthopedic surgeon at the Manila Medical Center, before he undergoes surgery on his torn rotator cuff muscle on his right shoulder.

GMA 7?s well known sports reporter and host Chino Trinidad told the Manila Standard that Dr. Javier wanted Cuello?s body ?to heal and recover? before surgery, following his majority decision loss to Chinese champion Xhong Zhao Zhong at the World Trade Center in Dubai last Saturday.

According to Trinidad, Dr. Javier and his battery of physician friends ?have all agreed to waive their professional fees in support of Cuello? who was cited by the surgeon for the ?tremendous courage he showed when he agreed to fight Zhong despite the shoulder injury.?

Dr. Javier also facilitated and helped Cuello acquire a Makati green card that allows a non-resident to enjoy substantial discounts for the use of Makati Medical facilities. Denver is from Binagonan in Rizal province.

The Standard learned that Cuello will have to rest for at least seven months after surgery which means he can only begin training early next year before a tune-up fight prior to a hoped-for rematch with the Chinese champion whose manager Liu Gang has said he is willing to give Cuello another crack at Zhong?s title.
