Boxing Fans,
Dateline Phoenix Wednesday March 6, 2013: ESPN 2 notified Fan Base Promotions of a programming change. The Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora vs. Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzales fight scheduled to be aired on April 19 on ESPN 2 will be moved to a later date if arrangements can be made. The sports network apologized to Fan Base for the inconvenience, but decided to air the WBA World Featherweight Championship bout between interim Champ Javier Fortuna (21-0) vs. Miguel Zamudio (25-1-1). The bout is expected to be staged in Las Vegas at a yet to be determined Casino.
A spokesperson for Fan Base issued the following statement: "It is a sad day for Fan Base, Sergio and Jesus. We understand that boxing is a business and these things happen. We hope we can repair the damage and still go forward with this fight at a later date. We are now in the process of contacting Sergio and Jesus. They have families to support and this news will not be met with joy. To our fans, we are truly sorry and we promise to do the best we can to put this show back on schedule in Phoenix. Please stay strong and loyal to boxing."
