NBA - Miami's Big 3 scores 81, overpowers Raptors

TORONTO -- In an explosive display of offensive might, LeBron James scored 30 points while his on court pals -- Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade--added 28 and 23 respectively as the defending champions Miami Heat traveled north of the border in a Sunday afternoon game..
The Big 3's fireworks all added up to a hard earned 100-85 victory over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.
Leading only by four points after three quarter of play, the Heat broke the game wide open with a scorching 29-18 run in the final 12 minutes of play.
Playing In his second game as a Raptor following his trade from the Memphis Grizzlies last week, Rudy Gay finished with 29 points on 11-for-23 shooting. But it wasn't enough to derail the Heat, who shot a high 53.3 percent from the field.
LeBron sank 10 of 16 field goals and nine of 12 free throws. King James also had eight rebounds and seven assists while Bosh and Wade combined for 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals to add to their scoring haul.
Since his arrival late last week, Gay has energized Toronto and given the city renewed hope to turn around a season that was dwindling away from playoffs contention. And Gay provided some potential to that promise when he scored 20 in his Friday debut when the Raptors manhandled the Los Angeles Clippers at home, 98-73.
But the Heat, the reigning world champions, were a different beast altogether. And with James, Wade and Bosh in full throttle, Gay and the Raptors simply didn't have enough firepower to match Miami's.
Still, the Raptors saw many opportunities to close the gap in the fourth quarter, but they missed many critical shots. Miami, meanwhile, was steady as a rock and continued to abuse the Raptors' defense. And when Bosh converted on a 3-point play in the final 1:04 in the fourth quarter, the game was signed, sealed and delivered --- .98-85.
DeMar DeRozan finished with 27 points Kyle Lowry added 10 for the Raptors, who shot just 37.3 percent from the field (28-of-75) and 22.2 percent from above the three-point arc (4-of-16). (RC)
