Today is another unforgettable day for the Champion of the Decade Juan Manuel Marquez. The multiple-division world champion was received by the President of Mexico Enrique Pe?a Nieto at the National Palace, just six days after his sensational sixth round knockout victory over Filipino Manny Pacquiao last Saturday night at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Juan Manuel Marquez, wearing formal suit and tie, was welcomed by the President of the Republic to whom he dedicated his spectacular historic win.

Addressing the proud audience at the National Palace the President lean onto the microphone and said:

"Now there is no doubt that there is one champion... it's you (looking towards Marquez). Congratulations on the knockout win that gives us great satisfaction," said Enrique Pe?a Nieto.

"Your win is an example that we can all be winners, yes we can."

Marquez arrived in his native Ciudad de M?xico on Tuesday morning and today (Friday in Mexico) he was received by the president, who was delighted to share with Marquez and expressed him his "admiration and appreciation for his impressive victory."

"We want to say thanks to you for the joy you gave to the people. You showed that when we set a goal in our minds, it can be achieved. You give an example to all of us. I want to join the voices of our people saying to you congratulations champion," said the President.

An emotional Juan Manuel Marquez thanked the words from the President of the Republic and said that this win was indeed very special one dedicated to all.

"In everyone's life there are unforgettable moments that come true, dreams and desires that make us feel alive. These days I have experienced events that have marked my life forever. Today I am being honored by the President. I can tell that he is the leader of a nation of winners who set a goal on something and do it," said a visibly happy Juan Manuel Marquez, the reigning super lightweight world champion as well as champion of the decade.

Near the end of the ceremony, Marquez gave the President Enrique Pe?a Nieto the black pair of Cleto Reyes gloves that used to knocked out Pacquiao.

Also, "Dinamita" gave the president a sports jacket used Saturday by Team Marquez.

The special ceremony concluded with President of Mexico Enrique Pe?a Nieto and the World Champion Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez posing for the many cameras at the National Palace and a smiling Marquez rising the hand of the president.
