LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Filipino Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr (9-9, 9KO's), the son of former world champion Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Sr., and nephew of 2-division world champion Gerry "Fearless" Pe?alosa, takes the family's boxing baton to a higher level as he makes his Las Vegas debut in a super bantamweight 8-rounder against Mexican-American Jesus Lule Raya in one of the undercards of the Pacquiao-Marquez4 card tomorrow at the famed MGM Grand Arena.

During the weigh-in ceremony, a calm and focused Dodie Boy Jr. made 123.5 lbs (56k gs), while opponent Jesus Lule Raya tipped the Tecate scale at a half pound havier at 124 lbs (56.25 kgs).

The young southpaw Dodie Boy Jr., who has scored knockouts in all his nine fights since turning pro two years ago, will battle the very active Mexican-American Jesus Lule Raya (6-4-1) of Fort Myers, Florida, a boxer who will be making his 7th fight this year.

Indeed, so far this year, the 28 year-old Jesus Lule Raya has scored five wins and one loss; and Jesus's last two victories were in his ancestral land of Mexico.

In contrast, the younger Dodie Boy Jr., has fought only two times this year, one in January and the last time in April; both being victories against unheralded opponents from Thailand and Indonesia.

The above considerations lead us to believe that Jesus Lule Raya might be the most difficult opponent in Dodie Boy's young career thus far, but the handlers of Dodie Boy Jr. (his dad and uncle), have faith that their kid can handle the increase in pressure.

In fact, there was certain interest in having Dodie Boy's making his U.S. debut in the Pacquiao-Margarito mega card at Dalla's Cowboy Stadium in November of 2010.

But the plans were scratched after Dodie Boy's rather worrisome performance against fourth class fighter Donriel Marcos (10-18, 1KO), a match in which Dodie Boy was sent to the canvas in the opening stanza prompting valid concerns on Dodie Boy's defensive technique.

Fast-forward one whole year and a much more improved, strong and focused Dodie Boy Jr. takes on the tough Jesus Lule Raya, but Dodie Boy's world champion elders are confident and faithful that the Pe?alosa boxing success story boxing continues.
