LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Boxing Superstar Manny Pacquiao made his grand arrival in Las Vegas today, Tuesday Dec 4, ahead of his 12-round clash with old nemesis Mexican Juan Manuel "Dinamita Marquez this Saturday here at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao's huge custom-printed bus pulled into the main entrance of the MGM Grand hotel around 1pm PT, shortly after the arrival of Marquez who was greeted with a Mariachi and excited Mexican fans.
Pacquiao's arrival appeared more more enthusiastic as Filipno flags, tons of fans screaming the name of their hero and gorgeous Filipina ladies in traditional dress welcomed the hugely popular Pacman with thunderous cheers.
During the half hour ceremony, the Filipino icon looked confident and in good spirits, always smiling and waving to his adoring fans.
Pacquiao said to be in great physical conditions and ready for the much awaited clash with Marquez this Saturday night, a fight in which no "catch weight" is in play.
The match is extremely important for both Pacquiao (who is almost 34 year-old) and Marquez, 39, as the result will carry much weight in cementing their legacy as legendary fighters.
Should Pacquiao win, he might go on to battle champion "Bam Bam" Rios, have a rematch with Tim Bradly or hopefully fight "Money" Floyd Mayweather, all explosive welterweight fights that surely would highlight the boxing calendar of 2013.
Fight promoter Hall of Famer Bob Arum, present at the MGM Grand to welcome his most precious boxer, assured Philboxing that Pacquiao-Marquez4 will be a "total war." It will be even more exciting that the first three installments."
Tomorrow (Dec 5) will be the final Pacquiao-Marquez4 Press Conference, which will take place at MGM Grand's Hollywood Theater at 12:30 pm PT and the weigh-in ceremony will be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday, December 7 at 2:30 pm PT (6:30am Manila Time), open the public with doors opening at noon.
