In an exciting clash, popular Mexican Zulina "La Loba" Mu?oz (36-1-2, 25KO's) outpointed her compatriot Maribel Ram?rez to capture the vacant WBC female super flyweight (115 lbs) world title in the main event of Saturday's Ring Telmex card at Foro Polanco in Ciudad de M?xico.
Mu?oz, 25, used her experience and height to dominate the brave Ramirez, a gutsy last minute replacement who did much better than expected. Scores were 96-94 in the cards of the three judges.
In attendance talking to fans were WBC president Jose Sulaiman with his son WBC secretary general Mauricio Sulaiman as well as popular former world champ/Playboy model Mariana "La Barbie" Juarez and the reigning light middleweight (154 lbs) world champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez among other boxing personalities.
The event was a production of Ring Telmex in association with Boxeo de Gala and Televisa.
