In an intense clash, Thailand's muaythai star Jomthong Chuwatana (center) scored a 12-round unanimous decision win over Filipino boxer Ranel Suco Singwancha (14-7-2, 6KO's) to become OPBF and WBC Asia Council Continental Super Featherweight (130 lbs) champion in Kunming, China.

Official scores were 119-109, 117-111, 119-110; all in favor of the 23-year-old Jomthong Chuwatana (4-0, 3KO's) who is also the reigning WBC Muaythai Lightweight (135 lbs) World Champion.

Jomthong Chuwatana, a dangerous southpaw kick boxer with more than 200 combats as muay thai fighter, aims at being the first warrior in history to be muay thai world champion as well as professional boxing world champ at the same time. He is already a Muay Thai 2-division world champion.

After the action-packed fight which was broadcast throughout China on Yunnan TV, Filipino matchmaker Brico Santig, Ranel Suco Singwancha's manager and cornerman, commented to this author:

"Jomthong Chuwatana is really a good boxer. But during the fight he used elbow strike movement two times (elbow strikes are allowed in muay thai)) for which the referee gave a warning to the Thai boxer (no points were deducted during the fight). According to Patrick Cusick (Australian boxing and muaythai reporter), the fight was very close and very exciting. It thrilled the chinese audience in attendance at the Kunming Stadium."
