Lumacad has a great chance.

Filipino Fernando Lumacad (on the right) will have the golden opportunity to shine in boxing when he battles popular hard-swinging Mexican Carlos "El Principe" Cuadras for the WBC Silver Super Flyweight (115 lbs) Title this Saturday night at El Foro Polanco in Ciudad de M?xico; and the Pinoy aims at a big win.

Lumacad, 26, of General Santos City bounces back in action after a close 10-round non-title majority decision loss to then flyweight world champion Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez last July in Culiacan, Sinaloa; a close combat which one of the Mexican judges scored it a draw.

His opponent, highly rated unbeaten 24-year-old Carlos 'El Principe' Cuadras (26-0, 22KO's), a fast rising star in Mexico's boxing scene, will be making his first title defense of the silver crown he captured just last month by knocking out Colombian Ronald Barrera (31-10-2, 19KO's) in Hermosillo, Sonora.

"El Principe" Carlos Cuadras is rated #1 super flyweight in the WBC and is well ranked in the IBF #3, WBO #10, and WBA #7. Lumacad is not rated, making this fight an priceless shot.

Lumacad and Cuadras already faced off during the animated "RING TELMEX" presser at Hotel Geneve in Ciudad de Mexico, an event attended by WBC president don Jos? Sulaiman.

As commented by Japanese reporter/matchmaker Kazuto Harada of Bangkok Gurentai, the Mexican Carlos Cuadras, whose nickname means "The Prince," addressed Fernando Lumacad (27-4-3, 12KO's) during the presser.

Looking at the Filipino, the Mexican Cuadras said "I will show you that I am a king in the ring."

Lumacad calmly replied by saying "I will show the real king of the ring!"

Fernando Lumacad, born in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur now living in Gensan, is managed by Australian Peter Maniatis of Melbourne and Filipino Jim Claude Manangquil of Fort Bonifacio, Manila.

The official weight-in ceremony will take place tomorrow.
