
FILIPINA 'MOM OF STEEL' IS WORLD'S BEST

Luz McClinton, the first Filipina who won the Pro Fame Figure World Championship in the USA in 2010 and the only one with a figure bodybuilding title, was declared the world?s best at the recently concluded World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (WBFF) Southwest U.S. Championship in Oklahoma, USA.
McClinton was the WBFF Pro Card Winner and Figure World Champion, beating famous health and fitness expert Ashley Horner. Horner was 2011 NPC West Coast Classic Overall Figure Champion, 2009 Darell Terrel first place figure, and 2008 Ms. Figure New England first place and first place overall. Horner is also 2012 second runner-up in the BodySpace Spokesmodel Search of Bodybuilding.com, sixth place figure in the 2011 Fitness America, Universe, fourth place figure in the 2011 Arnold Classic Class D, third place figure in the 2009 San Antonio, second place in the 2008 Hot Body Darrell Terrell and 2nd place figure in the 2008 NPC Jay Cutler Classic Boston.
McClinton, famous as Mama Luz from the Pinoy Big Brother House, also won a bronze in Diva Fitness in the same competition.
?Thank you for all your prayers. Finally, we are champions again. I offer this to all mothers like me and to our President Aquino,? said Luz, who will be back in Manila on Tuesday and will fly to Berlin, Germany after a week for another competition.
Luz, who also recently won in the Phil-Asian Pacific International Body Building Competition in Cebu City, earning the titles 2012 Cebu Philippines and 2012 UBFFP Ms. Phil- Asia, wants to fulfill another dream ? boxing.
The ?Mom of Steel? is a fan of Nonito Donaire and Ana Julaton.
?I am willing to train in boxing, why not? I have a good trainer ? my father,? Luz said.
For the past four years, McClinton has competed here and abroad, bringing honor to the country. Awards she has won include Fame International 2010 Champion, Ironpinoy Figure Champion 2010, Overall National Cebu Champion 2010, Fame Muscle Model Silver 2010, Ms. Boracay 2010, Ms. Physique Philippines 2009, Ms. Universe Figure 2009 and Ms. Fitness Philippines 2006. - Marlon Bernardino.
