3 PINOY BOXERS EYE CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS IN 2013

THREE feisty and promising Filipino boxers are eyeing for world championship boxing bouts come 2013. This was revealed yesterday at the sports forum organized by the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (SCOOP), at Kamayan Restaurant at Padre Faura, Manila.
Boxing handlers and promoters Brico Santig, Naris Singwancha and La Trinidad Benguet mayor Gregorio Abalos Jr., said that the three boxers under their care are in full preparation for the future fights.
First on the line is boxer Dayer Gabutan (Singwancha Promotions) of Ilocos region and currently the World Boxing Oriental bantamweight champion, will be the mandatory challenger of whoever will be the winner of the scheduled fight between newly crowned world champion Puenglong Sor Singyo of Thailand and Paula Abunda of Africa.
The 24-year-old Gabutan has successfully defended his crown after he decked the hard hitting Indonesian Lande Olin last October 13, 2012 in their Oriental bantamweight title.
Rey Migreno of Misamis Occidental recently became the new WBC International flyweight champion after knocking out WBC fighter of the decade Pongsaklek Wonjongkam of Thailand. Migreno will be challenging Toshiyuki Igarashi of Japan, who is currently WBC flyweight king.
Migreno got a shot at the championship belt by his impressive third round victory over his Thai opponent last November 1, 2012 held at Nakhon Rachasima, Kingdom of Thailand.
Mateo Handig of Northern Samar, on the other hand, will meet the Mexican IBF world champion Mario "Dragoncito" Rodriquez. Handig outboxed Japanese two time world champion Katsunari Takayama to captured wht IBF-Pan Pacific for the minimum weight (105-pound) title.
The three boxers, including their handlers and promoters was supported by the boxing division of the Games And Amusement Board, under the leadership of Chairman Juan Ramon Guazon.
Meanwhile, non-stop boxing actions continue at the Casino Filipino, Paranaque this coming December 8, 2012 for the Double Championship bout of the WBC and Muay Thay. First on the line is Florante Condes, former IBF world 105 pounder will be up against Donny Mabao, the current WBC-Continental Champion.
